General Dentistry Services

General Dentistry covers all aspects of dental care from minor preventative care to major restorations. Pearl Shine Dental staff is well trained in all avenues of dentistry and is available to answer any questions you may have regarding any treatment necessary.

Nitrous Oxide Sedation is effective for mild to moderate anxiety associated with dentistry. Nitrous gas is breathed in through the nose, which induces a type of euphoria to dispel your discomfort. A benefit of Nitrous is that you can return to your previous activities of the day almost immediately after treatment.

Oral/Light Sedation: is a mild state of sedation usually achieved by taking an oral sedative such as Valium. This option is more severe than Nitrous Oxide yet less so than I.V. sedation. Taking an oral sedative requires that you take the sedative prior to your appointment; doing so means that you must have a driver present to take you to and from your appointments.

Composite Fillings: Composites are tooth colored fillings that are directly bonded to the tooth. When enough healthy tooth structure exits, composite resins are the materials of choice. They can be used to reshape teeth and replace old silver fillings. We find that Composite Resins are longer lasting with no risk of mercury poisoning that comes with amalgam (silver) fillings.

Crowns: A crown fits over and replaces the entirety of a decayed tooth above the gum line. The crown forms a seal with the gum line preventing damaging bacteria from accessing the delicate interior of the tooth. A crown will be fabricated to a look and function as your real tooth would.

Bridges: A bridge functions as a fixed replacement tooth that is anchored to the neighboring teeth for support. A bridge can be utilized in a situation when there has been a recent extraction and aesthetically and functionally requires replacement.

Dentures: Dentures are false teeth made to replace teeth you have lost. Dentures can be complete or partial. Complete dentures cover your entire upper or lower jaw. Partials replace one or a few teeth.

Dental Implants: A dental implant is special surgical grade titanium post, manufactured to highly precise specifications, under strict sterile conditions, that is inserted surgically into the jawbone below the gum surface. As the bone bonds to the post, it forms a secure foundation onto which your new teeth are then attached and shaped to match your mouth. Implants can help replace a single tooth, or a full set of teeth.

Porcelain Inlays/Onlays: Inlays or onlays are restorations that are bonded to tooth structure to replace amalgam (silver) fillings or decayed or fractured portions of the tooth. Porcelain is the material of choice due to its strength. The color can match the natural color of your tooth. Porcelain inlays/onlays can last 15 years or more with proper care and are more resistant to staining than composite resin fillings.

Night Guards/ Sport Guards: Is a custom-made, soft or hard appliance fabricated to treat grinding or jaw joint disease. A sport guard is useful to have for anyone involved in athletics. This custom sports guard is perfectly molded to your teeth and provides you with the support and protection needed in any sport.

Extractions/Oral Surgery: Whether you are having pain from new wisdom teeth emerging or have a broken tooth that is unable to be saved, Dr. Saini and staff strive to make you as comfortable and pain free as possible. We understand your concerns and apprehensions with having a tooth pulled and it is our desire to help you through the process.

Endodontics/Root Canals: Occasionally, a tooth's nerve chamber will become infected, requiring a root canal to save the tooth. This treatment cleans the infected chamber and repairs the damage, saving your natural tooth. Our office utilizes a procedure that is both comfortable and completed in less time than previous methods.

Periodontal Therapy: Periodontics refers to the treatment and maintenance of the structure that supports your teeth – namely, the gums and bone matter. Gingivitis is an early form of periodontitis, or gum disease. If you experience an occasional swelling of the gums, gums that bleed after brushing or flossing, itchy gums, or bright red or purple gums, chances are you have gingivitis. Gingivitis can be treated by having your teeth professionally cleaned, followed by a strict oral hygiene regimen, including anti-bacterial rinses.
